BAKOS JULIUS M., Sr. Age 94, formerly of McKeesport, died January 1, 2018, in Royersford, PA. Born June 10, 1923, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Michael and Rose (Homoki) Bakos and the husband of the late Theresa (Smith) Bakos. Julius retired from the P.L.C.B., in 1985, with 15 years of service. In his early years he owned and operated the "Bakos Cafe," with his father for 19 years. He also worked at Ft. Pitt Foundry, for five years and US Steel National Tube Works, as a timekeeper for five years. He was US Army veteran, serving in the 3rd Armored Division Band in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He belonged to the Aliquippa Lodge #375, F&AM. Julius was born and raised in the Hungarian Reformed Church, where he served on council for many years and was Chief Elder at his churches Mortgage Burning Ceremony. He is survived by his grandaughter, Megan (Joe) Satalino of Royersford, PA; daughter-in-law, Janet Bakos of Moon Twp.; cousin, Joyce Petrlak of Hollywood, FL; and his faithful neighbor, Gay Lapsley. Family and friends will be received at the WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, on Friday, January 5, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of the blessing service at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Rev. SAWICKI GLENN PATRICK Glenn Patrick Sawicki, 52, of Greer, SC passed away on January 1, 2018. He was the son of John and Rose Sawicki of Pittsburgh, PA. Glenn was well-known in the Greenville community as the owner of Saffron's; he was a true humanitarian who supported many local organizations including Centre Stage and Warehouse Theater where he served as a board member for both theaters for many years. Saffron's sponsored the Warehouse Gala and every preview night since 2012. Glenn's personal generosity raised many thousands of dollars over the years for Warehouse Theater, Centre Stage, The Greenville Symphony, and The Children's Museum. Glenn graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. Before his culinary career, Glenn was a firefighter and served two years as President of the Bower Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He became an Eagle Scout with his brother Gary in 1980 in Troop 834, and he also served as assistant Scoutmaster. In addition to his parents John and Rose, Glenn is survived by his sister, Donna Besz (Keith); his twin brother, Gary Sawicki; his niece, Nicole Besz; his nephew, Justin Besz; his aunt, Agnes Makitka; and many loving cousins and devoted friends. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1209 Brushy Creek Road, Taylors. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held after the service. As a homemaker, she was devoted to her husband, her family and her community. She spent countless hours volunteering at St Clair Hospital, the Bethel Community Center and Meals on Wheels. She possessed a true zest for life and a generosity of spirit. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony P. Spagnol, her daughter-in-law, Pam Spagnol and her five siblings. REARICK ANDERSON MALVIN JR. Anderson Malvin Rearick, Jr., formerly of Quincy MA., passed away on January 1st, 2018. Andy was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Lebanon High School and then attended Wheaton College in Illinois (Class of 1949). While at Wheaton, he committed his life to follow Jesus. From 1950-1954 he served in the United States Navy as a Naval Aviator, leaving at the rank of Lieutenant. On June 6, 1953 he married the love of his life, Annie Thompson Cubie. From 1954-1978 he served as a Special Agent in the FBI and retired on March 1978. He entered the pastoral ministry in 1975. Andy served the East Rockaway Church of the Nazarene as Associate Pastor for two years before becoming the Senior Pastor of the Massapequa Park Church of the Nazarene until 1991. He finished his working career as the Director of Safety, Security and Risk Management at Eastern Nazarene College from 1991 to 2001. Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Ann Cubie Rearick and his dear sister, Mary Barnes. He is also survived by his children, Anderson M. Rearick III (Tad), Deborah Rearick Schuler, Mary Rearick Paul and James Cubie Rearick. He was also the loving father-in-law of Loretta Rearick, Alan Schuler, Bruce Paul and Cynthia Rearick and doting grandfather of Tiffany Syfert, Jordan Rearick, Wesley Anderson Paul, Anderson M. Rearick IV, Kayla Kish, Jonathan James Rearick, Laura Rearick, and Madison Rearick.
