SZCZERBA CLARA (MATUSZEWSKI) Of West Mifflin, on August 31, 2013, age 95. Born and raised in Polish Hill, Clara was the daughter of the late Anthony and Augusta (Janc) Matuszewski; beloved wife of 56 years to Ted Szczerba, who was her true love; mother of Josephine (Bernard) Zelik, Rosemarie (Martin) Gavin, Christine (Patrick) Espy, and Taddeus (Pam) Szczerba; sister of the late Leo Matuszewski, Anna Bendick, and Victoria Zakrzewski. She is also survived by her two grandchildren. Clara attended Immaculate Heart Church and School while growing up and then became a parishioner of Resurrection Church, where she was an active member of the church and social clubs. She had a very active social life and loved to travel all through the United States and Europe. She was an avid reader and crocheted beautiful afghans for her family and friends.
