HOLMES CHARLES C. Charles, 86, of Florida, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, in the Lane Purcell Hospice House, Sumterville, FL. He was born January 30, 1929, in Crafton, a son of the late Charles Holmes, Sr. and Sarah (Mahaney) Holmes. Mr. Holmes was a retired chief dispatcher with US Steel. He loved his family and was an avid hunter and outdoors man. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Orel) Holmes, with whom he celebrated his 59th wedding anniversary on February 14, 2015; children, Charles C. (Gayle) Holmes, Jr. of Texas, Deborah (Benjamin) Hernandez of California, Kimberlee (Mike) Fuller of Pennsylvania, Jeffrey A. Holmes of Florida; brother, Donald (Jill) Hillebrand of Pittsburgh; he was also survived by four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Anthony Orel; sisters-in-law, Nancy Rank and Rose Scumaci. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
