HUCKLE DONALD BOB ROBERT Passed away on November 20, 2014, in Doylestown, PA, at the age of 68. He leaves behind his wife, Rita Huckle (Roper); his daughters, Tonya Mayro and Jayme Weideman; his sons, John Huckle and Jared Huckle; seven grandchildren, Zach Mayro, Molly Mayro, Nina Mayro, Owen Mayro, Eva Huckle, Lucijan Huckle, and Oliver Weideman; many loving nieces and nephews; countless colleagues and friends; and his dog, Daisy. Don was born on February 22, 1946, in Buffalo, NY, to father, Donald Huckle and mother, Marjorie Huckle, both of whom predeceased him. He grew up in a large, loving family with one sister and three brothers, Marcia, Bruce, Brian, and James. As a man passionate about sharing his love of music with others, Don graduated from Union College in Barbourville, KY with a degree in music and took a teaching position in Doylestown, PA at Unami Junior High School and then at Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh, PA. Don was a passionate music educator known by his peers for putting on breath-taking marching band shows and known by his students as someone who was dedicated to their musical and personal development. Don's other passions included volunteering in the community, specifically with Large Fire Department, working with model trains to delight his grandchildren, and gardening. The consummate positive thinker, when diagnosed with cancer, he remained dedicated in his work as a husband, father, and grandfather. Even in his final days, when asked how he was, Don would, without hesitation, respond with terrific. The family would especially like to thank his Baldwin High School family and Primerica family for the years of friendship, support, and fond memories; and the staff of Lakeview for their constant, attentive treatment. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Baldwin Highlander Music Patrons, Attn: Greg Steele, 4653 Clairton Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
