RENCKLY EUGENE F. GENE Age 99, made his way up to God on September 7, 2014. He resided at Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community of Cranberry Twp., formerly of McCandless Twp., PA. Cherished husband of Elizabeth A. (Klein) Renckly for 68 wonderful years; loving father of Ron (MaryLou) Renckly of Southport, NC, Joe Renckly of Pittsburgh, PA, Susan (Bob) Foley of Cranberry Twp., PA, Ellen Dolegowski of Louisville, Kentucky; grandfather of six and great- grandfather of three. Gene was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army as a staff sergeant to the Army Port Commander at Guadalcanal. He worked his entire career with Block Brothers of Wheeling, WV, retiring in 1980 as Regional Sales Manager. Gene was a skilled bridge player and was known as "Director" for 25 years, running the Tuesday morning Silver Tops duplicate bridge at Pine Creek and Baierl YMCA. He was a longtime usher at St. Alexis Church in Wexford and most recently a member of St. Ferdinands Church in Cranberry Twp. He knew how to hold em...cards, drinks, friends, and will be remembered lovingly for his quick wit, sharp mind, entertaining jokes, and unique custom made greeting cards.
