HUGHES MARY LOU (PLATT) Age 87, a lifelong resident of Avalon, on July 28, 2017. Mary Lou (Platt) Hughes, wife of the late William C. Hughes, Sr.; mother of Judy H. (Bruce) Ehrhardt, of Ohio Twp., William C. (Becky) Hughes, Jr., of Slippery Rock, and James P. (Lisa) Hughes, of Ross Twp.; five grandchildren, Kaitlin (David) Remensky, Krista (Ryan) Miller, Leah (Matthew) Boccardi, Libby (Chad) Thorpe, and Amanda (Steve) Reutzel; eight great-grandchildren, Caroline, Elisabeth, Abigail, Landon, Amelia, Marina, Harper, and William; also survived by two sisters, Jeanne (Joe) Henry, and Marjory Kash. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the Northmont United Presbyterian Church. Friends received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the McDONALD-LINN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, LLC, 529 California Ave., Avalon, PA 15202, where services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., interment will be private.
