BAILEY FRANK R., Jr. Passed away on January 25, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helena Vuyk Bailey. He is survived by two children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Frank came to Princeton University from Shadyside Academy in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated in 1950 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the Campus Club. He served in the U.S. Army with the 32nd Infantry Division in the Philippines and participated in the occupation of Japan. He joined the Pittsburgh Dravo Corporation, the fabricator of steel floating and material handling equipment. After 32 years there in various capacities, he retired early when the U.S. steel industry collapsed. He then undertook boat building and campaigned a sailboat for 14 years on a nearby lake. His other interests included The Sewickley Presbyterian Church, the management of a small charitable foundation, Grove City College, where he established a memorial scholarship fund in the name of his brother, John N. Bailey Princeton '45, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (board member emeritus), contributing member of The Amateur Yacht Research Society (UK), 11 years of cruising on Lake Heron with a friend, reading literature, history, philosophy, and theology. He filled his home with over 25 ship models, of almost museum quality, and a plethora of hand crafted items he so loved to create. He was a passionate dog lover, an amateur cartoonist, and always kept his lawn cut. He will be dearly missed. Private arrangements by THE RICHARD D.
