HOLT WILLIAM “BILL” EDWARD William “Bill” Holt age 86, of McMurray, born December 8, 1930 in Bainbridge, Georgia passed away peacefully January 27, 2017. A blessing of paternal devotion to his large family, Bill is survived by his wonderful wife of 63 years, Nira Wimberly Holt; son, William Edward Holt, Jr.; daughters, Deborah Holt (Philip) Campbell and Mary Rebecca Holt-Ulam; grandchildren, Jamie Leigh Holt, Audrey Holt (Brian) Swanson, Matthew Philip Campbell, William Graham Campbell, James Andrew Campbell, Timothy James (Lindsay) Ulam II, Amanda Ulam (Richard) Dunavent, Devin William Ulam; five great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews and brother, Robert Graham (Barbara) Holt. Preceded in death by his parents, William Harmon Holt and Lillian Graham Holt; sister, Elinor Holt Evans and brother, James Harmon Holt. Bill was a Realtor, Broker, Builder, Developer. Director of Northwood Realty Services. Owner Century 21 Giant Oaks Realty. Owner-Partner, with Guy F. Evans Giant Oaks Realty which developed Giant Oaks Subdivision, Peters Township. Partner in H.E.H (Hammel Evans and Holt) Construction. He served the Pittsburgh area as member and past President of the Greater Pittsburgh Multi-List. Member and past President of Washington- Greene Association of Realtors; Member of both the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors and The National Association of Realtors. Bill was a charter founding member June 15, 1965 of the Peters Township Rotary Club which he served for 50 plus years. Bill was President July 1974 to June 1975, awarded Rotarian of the Year for 2014-2015 and also received the Paul Harris Service Plus 2 Award in March 1990. He also was a long standing member of the Peters Township Chamber of Commerce. Bill graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he played baseball and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Bill served as First Lieutenant in the Air Force from 1952-1956. An active member of Peters Creek Baptist Church for 61 years, Bill served as Moderator, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He served as Assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #320. Bill was an avid hunter and hiker, spending much time in the hills of Western Pennsylvania. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUER. Friends will be received at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray 724-941-3211 on Friday 5-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Peters Creek Baptist Church, Library, PA Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Private Interment with Full Military Honors will follow.
