WRIGHT ELIZABETH ETHEL (AIKEN) Went to be with her Lord, on Saturday, June 8, 2013. Betty was born on September 2, 1921, to the late Ethel (Morris) and Lawrence Aiken in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Oliver High School and attended the U of Pitt. She worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass during WWII and retired from Hoover Co., Canton, OH in 1988. Betty was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Canton where she served as Secretary, volunteer and Sunday school teacher. She volunteered for the Red Cross making quilts for disaster relief and was a member of a quilting group for Martin Luther Lutheran Church to assist community services in Canton. She served as Cub Scout leader, 4-H Advisor and Docent for the Hoover Company Historical Society. Betty was a talented seamstress, quilter and gardener. She was a strong, humble, loving, gracious and kind-hearted soul whose humor, grace and dignity served as an example for all who knew her. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Wright; son-in-law, Jim Thompson; and brother, Robert L. Aiken. She is survived by her loving son, Warren; daughter-in law, Joanne; grandson, Joshua Wright of Burlington, MA; and loving daughter, Virginia Wright-Thompson of Powell, OH; sister-in-law, Helen Aiken; cousins, nieces and nephews, many loving friends; and beloved dogs, Jonah, Bonnie, Fubu and Issy. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, OH 43085, where a Memorial service will begin at 4 p.m., Pastor Ric Barnes officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in Pittsburgh, PA.
