
COOK MARY (LaBELLA) Peacefully, Mary Cook, 85, passed away on December 22, 2013 from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease. Mary grew up in Oakland and graduated from Schenley High School. She held the position of front desk clerk at the Schenley Hotel in Oakland, and later at The Carlton House in downtown Pittsburgh. She went on to an accounts payable position with the United Steelworkers where she retired after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Clarence Cook; her sisters, Mafalda Daniele, Caroline Sacco and Victoria LaCava; as well as special friend, Pasquale Melaragno. She is survived by brother-in-law, Frank LaCava; brother, Camillo (Peggy) LaBella; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Aunt Mary, was a very gentle, sweet woman. May she rest in peace and delight that she is now reunited with her beloved sisters. Family and friends are welcomed at the JOHN N.
